Get creative and come along to this social group for adults. Built around a shared interest in art, the Art and Minds meets on Wednesday mornings at Wellspring House, Radcliffe.
What should I expect when attending for the first time?
We usually start at 10am with a cup of tea or coffee.
The session opens with a short relaxation exercise, then we do some art work. There are plenty of opportunities to chat to others while you’re working or if you prefer you can work quietly
There is a break at around 11am and the session finishes at 12 noon.
What sort of art work will I do?
We usually have a broad theme for the session and a selection of art materials available. Sessions are very informal and participants are encouraged to suggest themes and ideas for future meetings. Recent work has included collage, drawing, colouring mandalas, mark making, painting pebbles and water colours. We have used oil pastels, crayons, paints, pens and pencils. During the summer when the weather is fine there is the option of spending time in the garden.
What if I wasn’t very good at art at school?
Art and Minds is about having fun, mark making, experimenting with art and meeting new people. People who come to this group have very different abilities and experience what they share is a common interest in expressing their ideas and feelings through mark making. Taking part in creative activities enhances wellbeing and is as great way to relax, de-stress and make new friends. Find out more about Art for Wellbeing
Is this an art class?
We do not provide tuition and there are no teachers or instructors. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the weekly sessions offer an opportunity to share skills, try new techniques and learn from each other.
