SEND Survey 2020

In Bury we recognise and understand that children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their parents and/or carers have a right to be involved in the decisions that affect their lives. They have a right to be involved in how services are created, developed and evaluated. This may include by being able to feedback on specific services or on how lots of different services are run and commissioned.

We have created an annual survey in order to give parents and/or carers of children and young people with SEND the opportunity to have their say about education, health and social care services in Bury, which include:

  • Education support services: Additional Needs Team (Local Authority Specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants) / Educational Psychology / Portage (Home teaching service 0-3 years old) / Primary Behaviour Outreach Service (The Hub) / Early Help support to early years settings and 0-5 years parent/carer support (formerly Reaching Children and Families Parenting Team) /Hearing and Vision - Sensory Needs Team
  • Health support services: Child Development Centre (CDC) / Community Dentist /Community Nursing / Continence Service Healthy Young Minds / Healthy Minds / Learning Disabilities Team / Occupational Therapy / Sensory Occupational Therapy / Wheelchair Services / Paediatrics Physiotherapy / Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Social Care - Children Disability Team / Adults Social Care.

The information that is collected from this survey will be fed back to specific teams as well as our directors of children and young people’s services in Bury. We will then update the One Community page to say how your feedback will be used.

Some of these questions may ask you about personal information, please only complete questions that you feel comfortable in completing. This survey will take 20 minutes.
