CYP IAPT stands for Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies. It is a national transformation programme launched in 2011 that seeks to improve the quality and access of services that provide emotional wellbeing support for children and young people.

The aim of the programme is to improve both the effectiveness of treatment and the experiences of children, young people and parents in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The programme supports improvement by ensuring that all services are embedding the five core principles into their day to day practice
