Sophie's Little Stars

I am an OFSTED registered childminder based in Whitefield. I offer before and afterschool club to Mersey Drive Primary School. I have two amazing sons and a cockapoo called Kenny.

My oldest attends Mersey Drive and my youngest will be with me.

My first taste of a child care experience was when I completed my work experience in a local primary school. When I left school I went to Salford College and completed my level 3 Childcare qualification, I had experience working in two schools and a small private nursery.

Since qualifying I was taken on by the nursery and worked up to be a room leader of their baby and preschool room. After leaving that nursery I went to a larger setting to progress further and expand my knowledge. Here I became a tots senior and then was promoted to baby room leader.

After I had my son I took on the deputy role, since my second boy and having my oldest jn school I wanted to find something around childcare but where I have flexibility around term time. I hope to make this change easier for other parents that are having the same struggle.
