About this service
The first church on this site was built in 1729, with the present building dating from 1842. We became a parish in 1885, and in March 2014 we joined with our sister church at Hillock to become the Parish of St Andrew Hillock and St George Unsworth.
There’s a lot going on at our Church, and you’ll find information about the various activities on our website. The people of St George are committed to ensuring that the Church serves the community in as many ways as possible. We’re here to listen and try to help in the difficult times, and to celebrate in the good times for all the people of Unsworth.
Parish Eucharist - Every first second third and fifth Sunday at 9:15 AM for 1 hour
JAM - Jesus And Me. During the Parish Communion service the children leave for a time of their own teaching from our children's workers. They meet in the Chapter House, attached to the church building. They return to the service in time for Communion.
Every first second third and fifth Sunday at 9:15 AM for 1 hour Family Service. This is our monthly parade service. It is usually non-eucharistic and includes a talk which involves the young people present. The service is a little less formal than other weeks. Every fourth Sunday at 9:15 AM for 50 minutes
